Today’s theme: What is in your hand?
To set the scene for worship, the band played the hymn tune, ‘Heaven Came Down’.
O, what a wonderful, wonderful day
Day I will never forget
When I was wandering in darkness away
Jesus my Savior I met
O, what a tender compassionate Friend
He met the need of my heart
Shadows dispelling with joy I am telling
He made all the darkness depart
Heaven came down and glory filled my soul
When at the cross my Savior made me whole
My sins were washed away
And my night was turned to day
When heaven came down and glory filled my soul
During worship the band played ‘People Need The Lord’ (Greg Nelson & Phill McHugh arr Tom Fettke Trs Howard Davies).
Every day they pass me by
I can see it in their eyes
Empty people filled with care
Headed who knows where
On they go through private pain
Living fear to fear
Laughter hides their silent cries
Only Jesus hears
People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He’s the open door
People need the Lord, people need the Lord
When will we realise people need the Lord?
We are called to take His light
To a world where wrong seems right
What could be too great a cost
For sharing life with one who’s lost?
Through His love our hearts can feel
All the grief they bear
They must hear the words of life
Only we can share
People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He’s the open door
People need the Lord, people need the Lord
When will we realise that we must give our lives?
For people need the Lord, people need the Lord
Our worship today was led by our officer Major David Burns.
We have each been called, equipped, and shaped for service. Major David told us that we might think we have nothing to offer, but God can take us and do miraculous things.

The band brought our worship to a conclusion by playing the hymn tune ‘In Thee, O Lord’.
In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust,
In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust,
In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust.
