Today’s theme: Worry doesn’t win
Today was a very special day at Bellshill, as we shared in the enrolment of Lewis Simms as a senior soldier. Please join us in praying for Lewis in these coming days, as he continues to grow in his Christian experience.

The band played the hymn tune ‘Be Still For The Presence of the Lord’, as the call to worship.
Be still, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One, is here;
Come bow before him now with reverence and fear:
In him no sin is found – we stand on holy ground.
Be still, for the presence of the Lord, the Holy One, is here.
Be still, for the glory of the Lord is shining all around;
He burns with holy fire, with splendour he is crowned:
How awesome is the sight – our radiant King of light!
Be still, for the glory of the Lord is shining all around.
Be still, for the power of the Lord is moving in this place;
He comes to cleanse and heal, to minister his grace –
No work too hard for him. In faith receive from him.
Be still, for the power of the Lord is moving in this place.
During worship the band played the song arrangement ‘It Is Jesus’ (Joy Webb arr. James Wright)
It is Jesus I need, it is Jesus indeed
Who can make it all possible in me;
Without Jesus I find I am so often blind
To the truth he is wanting me to see.
O Jesus, Jesus
You are the one who can make my life complete.
It is Jesus I need, it is Jesus indeed,
Jesus in me more and more.
It is Jesus I need, it is Jesus indeed
Who will make my faith beautiful and bold;
And with Jesus in me I need no longer be
So afraid of what future days may hold.
O Jesus, Jesus
You are the one who can make my life complete.
It is Jesus I need, it is Jesus indeed,
Jesus in me more and more.
Major David reminded us that if we’re struggling with worry or anxiety, or in the quiet moments there are those things that rush into our minds and overwhelm us, God is with us and reassures us that “I am with you”. In other words, He’s with us always, and goes before us. We therefore must always put our hope and trust in Him.
To bring our worship to a conclusion, the band played the hymn tune ‘In Christ Alone’.
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand
