Band Visit Bothwell Evangelical Church

Band Visit Bothwell Evangelical Church

On another bright and sunny Saturday, the band headed a few miles down the road from Bellshill to Bothwell, to give a concert at Bothwell Evangelical Church. The church was full and the band were ready to start the programme when one of the band's bass players realised he'd forgotten something...his bass! Fortunately David had brought his bass to the church, he'd just left it in one of the side rooms!

Once all the band were there...with their instruments, the band got the programme underway with the march "Punchinello". The programme included a number of changes from the programmes the band had performed elsewhere in the last month. The newest edition to the programme was "Elsa's Procession To the Cathedral" which is a piece of music which a number of the band had indicated was a favourite. Also on the programme were 4 solo items:

  • Yvonne Ferguson (cornet) - My Love Is Like a Red Red Rose

  • Gemma Gunn (vocal) - The Wind Beneath My Wings

  • Lynn Shanks (flugel horn) - Through It All

  • Chris Shanks (euphonium) - Dearest Name

A good evening of praise and worship was had by all present at Bothwell on the night. The one item which was commented on by many as the highlight of the night, was Lynn's

We play our music to spread God's message and to hopefully bless people. With this in mind, it was great to hear from one lady who had never been at a church service for over 30 years, since her son died, however during the band's programme she felt God speaking to her. If for no other reason, this one fact made the band's visit to Bothwell worthwhile!
