Motherwell Ebenezer Church

Last updated: 13/04/2009

4th - Motherwell Ebenezer Church

On Tuesday 4th October 2005, the band visited the Motherwell Ebenezer Church. The band were invited to provide a concert for the opening night of the new session of women's meetings. The hall was packed with over a hundred people, both men and women - the men were only allowed to attend tonight because it was the first meeting of the new session!

Although a number of the band members were not able to attend tonight due to illness or work commitments, they were still able to provide a programme of music to touch and challenge everyone.

The soloists for the night were provided by:- YPBL Yvonne Ferguson who played the cornet solo "My Love Is Like a Red, Red Rose"; Lynn Shanks who played a flugel horn solo called "I Don't Know How To Love Him", which was based on the song of the same name from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Jesus Christ Superstar; Gemma Gunn provided a vocal solo entitled "You Got To Go By Grace". A quartet (cornet, flugel horn, tenor horn, euphonium) entitled "Sweet and Low" was also presented by YPBL Yvonne Ferguson, Lynn Shanks, Sarah Allan and Asst.YPBL Chris Shanks.

The band's next visit to Motherwell Ebenezer Church has already been arranged for Saturday 18th March 2006!
