23th - CD Launch
Details
Due to the
overwhelming demand for tickets the CD launch Night has been moved to:-
Macdonald Memorial Church
Main
Street
Bellshill
(opposite Bellshill SA Hall)

23rd - Band Launch CD
The venue had to be moved from the Salvation Army hall to
neighbouring Macdonald Memorial Church. This was due to the large interest for
this event. The church was packed, with over 400 people attending the launch.

The band played 5
tracks from the CD:-
Gemma Gunn and Olwyn Mathie enhanced the programme by
singing “Take my Life” and “Written in Red” respectively. Yvonne Ferguson also
featured the Cornet Solo “Clear Skies”.
During the interval, 5 other tracks from the actual CD were
played.
The programme was also supported by Bellshill Songsters who
featured the songs “Count your Blessings” and Standing on the Promises”. The
Bellshill Timbrels also played to “Moses get down”. Piper Bobby Watt joined with the band to play “Highland
Cathedral”. Deputy Bandmaster Melvyn Shanks rounded of a short
reflective time with a Bible reading and thought.
This was a great evening, and was well received by the
large congregation. It was good to have support from MPs, MSPs and local
councillors as well as support from the community and friends of the band. The
were many corps represented that evening in the congregation, and special thanks
should be given to them for their support.
The evening was finished off with a Cup if Tea and good old
“Tunnocks” produce donated by Boyd Tunnock who was present at the launch.
Former bandsmen and women joined with the current band to
get a picture taken at the end of the evening.
