Music for a summer’s evening 07/06/2019

What a fantastic night we shared tonight at Bellshill Salvation Army for the band’s annual Music For a Summer’s Evening concert. The hall was packed as we praised God through the medium of music.

The collection tonight raised £800 for Thrombosis UK. Thanks to everyone for giving so generously.

The band items tonight included:

  • Able
  • The Ashokan Farewell
  • Lift Up Your Voice
  • My Strength, My Tower
  • Immeasurable!
  • Cross-Rhythms
  • The Prayer

In addition to the band items, the timbrels played to the march Goldcrest, and several soloist were featured:

  • Alex Ramsay played the cornet solo Concerto For Trumpet.
  • Daniel McMillan presented a vocal solo.
  • YPBL Chris Shanks played the euphonium solo Scottish Folk Variants.
  • Cameron Shanks played The Black and White Rag on xylophone.

The reflect part of the programme included:

  • Vocal solo There Is A Saviour by Marjory Watson
  • Band Sergeant David Kendall shared some reflections
  • Flugel horn solo Through It All played by Lynn Shanks.

Thank you also to everyone who came along to Bellshill tonight, we hope you enjoyed our programme, and were blessed and challenged by our music. Thank you again for your generosity in helping us raise a fantastic amount of money for Thrombosis UK.
