Tonight at Bellshill SA we shared an excellent evening of Christmas music provided by BSAB. Some of the music presented were:
- It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas
- A Christmas Overture
- Still, Still, Still
- The Coventry Carol
- The Disney favourite, Let It Go
The congregation got the chance to choose some of their carols and sing along with the band. Tonight’s programme was in aid of The Teenage Cancer ward at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The collection taken during the meeting raised just over £1000, and this was presented to a representative from the charity who had shared some information about the charity earlier in the programme.
We featured several soloist tonight:
- Lynn Shanks (flugel horn) played Away In A Manger
- Daniel McMillan (vocal) sang What’s Christmas Without a Brass Band?
- Willie Young (tuba) played I Dream of Jeannie
As we moved into a more reflective part of our programme, YPBL Chris Shanks played the beautiful euphonium solo, In Gardens of Peace. Band Sergeant David Kendall shared some reflections before the band played Who Is He?
The band played Jingle Bells to concluded a great night of festive music.
Thank you to everyone who came along tonight, we hope we’ve helped you feel more festive. Thank you so much for your generosity in helping us raise a fantastic amount of money for a great cause.
