Morning meeting 30/06/2019

Our meeting today was led by CSM Melvyn Shanks and CMS Allan Scott.

The band provided the call to worship as we played All That I Am

All that I am, all I can be, all that I have,
All that is me, accept and use, Lord,
As you would choose, Lord, right now, today.
Take every passion, every skill,
Take all my dreams and bend them to your will.
My all I give, Lord,
For you I’ll live, Lord, come what may.

Often I come with my problems and cares, running to you when distressed.
But I must bring you the whole of my life; Lord, I must give you my best.

All that I am, all I can be, all that I have, all that is me, accept and use, as you would choose, right now , today.
Take every passion, every skill, take all my dreams and bend them to your will.
My all I give, Lord, for you I’ll live, Lord, come what may.

Life has no purpose unless it is yours, life without you has no goal.
All that fulfils me is doing your will, knowing that you’re in control.

All that I am, all I can be, all that I have, all that is me, accept and use, Lord, as you would choose, Lord, right now, today.
Take every passion, every skill, take all my dreams and bend them to your will.
My all I give, Lord, for you I’ll live, Lord, come what may.
All that I am.

Our contribution to worship was Richard Phillips arrangement Lord With My All I Part

Saviour, my all I’m bringing to thee;
Speak, Lord, and I thy voice will obey;
Seal me just now thy servant to be,
For more of thy power, dear Lord, I pray

Lord, with my all I part,
Closer to thee I’ll cling,
All earthly things that bind my heart,
Dear Lord, to thy feet I bring.

CMS Allan Scott told us it is part of God’s plan that we have not been appointed officers for the coming year. He challenged us to step up and help our corps to grow, just as Elisha stepped up after Elijah was taken up to heaven.

For the benediction the band played the song I’ll Go In The Strength

I’ll go in the strength of the Lord
In paths He has marked for my feet;
I’ll follow the light of His word,
Nor shrink from the dangers I meet.
His presence my steps shall attend,
His fullness my wants shall supply;
On Him, till my journey shall end,
My unwavering faith shall rely.

I’ll go (I’ll go,) I’ll go in the strength,
I’ll go in the strength of the Lord,
I’ll go, (I’ll go,) I’ll go in the strength,
I’ll go in the strength of the Lord.

Today we said farewell to Captains Tim and Cheryl Stone, Bradley and Elissa, who moving to their new appointment in Northampton. We pray for them, and for Zara, who will remain here to continue her studies.
