Morning meeting 22/09/2019

Worship commenced with the band providing the call to worship with Paul Sharman’s arrangement Time To Be Holy.

Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord;
Abide in Him always, and feed on His Word.
Make friends of God’s children, help those who are weak,
Forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek

Today’s worship was led by Deputy Bandmaster Melvyn Shanks with Pastor David Ramage, from Kings Church Motherwell, providing a story for the young people as well as the bible message.

Pastor David spoke of us having to accept two crosses – The cross of Jesus and our own personal cross. He encouraged us not just to acknowledge Christ’s sacrifice for us, but to repay God by leaving all our problems and stresses with Him so we can focus only on Him.

Several people shared their testimonies this morning, and they each reminded us that there are many who really need the Lord.

It was applicable therefore that the band shared the song arrangement People Need The Lord (Greg Nelson & Phill McHugh Arr. Tom Fettke, Trs. Howard Davies) during worship.

Every day they pass me by
I can see it in their eyes
Empty people filled with care
Headed who knows where

On they go through private pain
Living fear to fear
Laughter hides their silent cries
Only Jesus hears

People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He’s the open door
People need the Lord, people need the Lord
When will we realise people need the Lord?

We are called to take His light
To a world where wrong seems right
What could be too great a cost
For sharing life with one who’s lost?

Through His love our hearts can feel
All the grief they bear
They must hear the words of life
Only we can share

People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He’s the open door
People need the Lord, people need the Lord
When will we realise that we must give our lives?
For people need the Lord, people need the Lord

The band concluded our worship with the music associated with these words

The cross is not greater than His grace,
The storm cannot hide His blessed face;
I am satisfied to know
That with Jesus here below,
I can conquer ev’ry foe.
