Morning meeting 17/03/2019

In this quiet moment, still, before your throne,
Conscious of your presence, knowing I am known,
In this quiet moment, set my spirit free,
In this quiet moment, make a better me.

The band played the music associated with these words, to prepare us for this morning’s worship.

Our contribution to worship was Andrew Mackereth’s arrangement Fall Afresh, which features the chorus, Spirit of the Living God:

Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me.
Break me, melt me, mould me, fill me;
Spirit of the living God,
Fall afresh on me.

We’re living in a world where there is much darkness and evil these days. So this morning Major Chris reminded us that Jesus is the light of the world, and that through us we can let His light shine through the darkness.

The band closed the meeting with the march Montreal Citadel.

Today was Band Librarian Kirsty Scott‘s last Sunday with us for a while, as on Tuesday she flies to Japan to take up a two year teaching post. She’ll be teaching English as a second language to students there. During worship this morning Kirsty was presented with a card and gift from the band. We wish her well in this new chapter of her life, and assure her of our support in prayer.
