Lowson Memorial Church, Forfar 10/12/17

Our final service of the day was at Lowson Memorial Church in Forfar and once again a capacity congregation joined with us for the carol service.

Soloists tonight were:

  • Lynn Shanks with the flugel horn solo Away in a Manger
  • Daniel Mcmillan sang the vocal solo What’s Christmas Without A Brass Band?

Items from the band included:

  • The Shining Star
  • Christmas Overture
  • Christmas Calypso
  • The Disney favourite, Let It Go
  • Mary, Did You Know?

The reflective part of the programme started with YP Band Leader Chris Shanks playing the euphonium solo In Gardens of Peace before Band Sergeant David Kendall spoke about A Great Light. The reflective part of the programme concluded with the band playing Who Is He?

Before the final carol of the evening, the band played Jingle Bells during which we had a visit from a very special guest!

Throughout the day monies raised were for The Inspiration Orchestra, which is a project aimed at enabling disabled people to play beautiful music. We are delighted to say that, just this evening, over £1083 was raised for the charity today.

The band once again enjoyed an excellent day in Angus and are so grateful for the warm welcome we received from everyone at St Andrew’s church Arbroath, Glamis Castle and Lowson Memorial church in Forfar.

Thank you also to those who came along and supported the band today.

Merry Christmas!
