Almost 13 years ago I transferred to Bellshill Corps and at that particular time my spiritual experience was low and my service as a Salvationist was very much in question. I knew nothing about Bellshill Corps even though I'd soldiered at a corps only 9 miles or so away. With a spiritual thirst I arrived and I was not disappointed. In fact I had found a much needed spiritual oasis which quenched my seeking heart.
 

I praise God that in this moment of time, things have not changed. In fact they have got increasingly better. The Corps is a true family corps that takes care and supports each other day by day and week by week. The fellowship in the band is second to none. What we attempt to do for Christ's sake is not for self gratification, but for the right reason, to proclaim the the gospel through our music making and I rejoice to be part and included in such a Christ centred fellowship.

Just last year, along with my wife, I set out on a journey that I had longed to do for many years. For me it was a very personal and emotional journey. I achieved what I was searching for, not without taking the wrong directions and in turn getting lost and having to back track in order to each my goal. Sixty years ago as a young lad of 10 years old, I set off on my Christian journey and yes down through the years there have been some wrong directions ventured and again again I have had to back rack in order to reach my goal as a Christian and Salvationist.

To anyone who has lost the vision that they once had, I say to you "Go back to the Old Wells where the waters are sweet", retrace your steps and start afresh, Jesus is waiting. My Christ is all in all.
