10/07/2022 Morning worship

As the call to worship this morning, the band reminded us that it was a ‘Happy day when Jesus washed my sins away’.

O happy day that fixed my choice
On Thee, my Savior and my God!
Well may this glowing heart rejoice,
And tell its raptures all abroad.

Happy day, happy day,
When Jesus washed my sins away!
He taught me how to watch and pray,
And live rejoicing every day;
Happy day, happy day,
When Jesus washed my sins away!

During worship the band play the song arrangement ‘It Is Jesus’ (Joy Webb arr. James Wright).

It is Jesus I need, it is Jesus indeed
Who can make it all possible in me;
Without Jesus I find I am so often blind
To the truth he is wanting me to see.

O Jesus, Jesus
You are the one who can make my life complete.
It is Jesus I need, it is Jesus indeed,
Jesus in me more and more.

It is Jesus I need, it is Jesus indeed
Who will make my faith beautiful and bold;
And with Jesus in me I need no longer be
So afraid of what future days may hold.

O Jesus, Jesus
You are the one who can make my life complete.
It is Jesus I need, it is Jesus indeed,
Jesus in me more and more.

We were reminded by Major Miriam throughout worship this morning of the hope of heaven. Even when we go through times of challenge and uncertainty we don’t need to go through it alone, because Jesus is with us. Because of our faith in Him, we receive His peace which gives us the hope of heaven for all eternity.

At the end of the meeting the band played the hymn tune ‘By the Grace of God’.

Day and night show evidence of God’s creative hand –
I see His wonders everywhere;
But the Bible promises a pure and fairer land:
By the grace of God, I shall be there!

Beyond the blue horizon
There’s another world, I know,
Where the “born again” shall go,
Meet the Lord who loves them so;
Beyond the blue horizon
There’s another world, I know,
By the grace of God, I shall be there!

Jesus died – I never knew the love He had for me,
The burden of my sin to bear;
Now by faith, a citizen of Heaven I will be:
Wondrous grace of God, I shall be there!

Time will quickly vanish and your life on earth be past;
To stand before God’s throne prepare;
In that Home of Heaven all so glorious and vast,
By the grace of God, shall you be there?
